F.E. Moran Mechanical Services (MMS) has earned the Mechanical Contractors Association (MCA) Gold Standard Safety Award for 2016 in the 30,000 work hours or less category.
The MCA has developed the Gold Standard award to encourage and reward safety excellence in the heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, piping, and mechanical services industry. To be considered for this award, companies must have a written safety program, have an officer of the company promoting safe work place decisions, apply for MCA safety awards, use one or more items from the MCA Safety Store, use safety stuffers, use Toolbox Talks, perform regular safety assessments, give new hire orientation, and have 95 per cent of pipe fitters complete their OSHA 10- or 30-hour.
“An achievement such as this is only possible by each and every member of the F.E. Moran Mechanical Service team’s full participation in its belief in safety,” said MMS president Dan O’Halloran. “One may not think this is significant, but it tells the rest of our industry we are doing things right. Not only are we taking care of our own safety, but all of us are taking care of each other, and those around us on the jobsite and in the workplace. I want to thank all of my team for proving we care about what we do, how we do it, and each other!”
