An affordable housing development at 1237 N. California Ave. in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood has secured partial funding approval, marking a significant step forward for this impactful project. Spearheaded by the Hispanic Housing Development Corporation and designed by DesignBridge, the development is set to replace a vacant lot with much-needed housing for working families and seniors.Project overview:

  • Seller Notes: $190,000
  • ComEd Energy Grant: $175,000
  • LIHTC Funding: $14.27 million
  • Deferred Developer Fee: $775,000

Construction and Design Details

  • Residential Lobby: Located on N. California Ave, the lobby will provide an inviting entrance for residents.
  • Community Room: A spacious area designed for community activities and gatherings.
  • Parking: Positioned at the rear of the building, the parking area will include 21 vehicle spaces, with 14 enclosed.

All units will be designated for individuals and families earning 80% or less of the Area Median Income (AMI).
