It’s either a typo, or one of the most expensive small roofing jobs in Chicago’s history. A building permit for “roof recover only — no structural work” at the building housing Mariano’s, 2021 W. Chicago Ave., has an incredible assigned value of $64,902,500 according to the published data about the permit issued on Aug. 27.
If Allied Waterproofing Inc. really was paid that much for the work, it would be undoubtedly be one of the most profitable jobs in Chicago’s recent construction industry history.
But it’s probably simply a typo. These things happen.
