The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) Chicago chapter is holding an event on April 10 to discuss diversity in the construction workplace and the advantages and processes of working for certification as minority, women, disadvantaged, disabled and veteran owned businesses.
Speakers will explore the benefits and challenges of a diverse workforce, the best certification options (and why), how certification affects business plans and decisions, and “Once an MBE how to do you ‘sell’ it without it becoming the reason that you are chosen for a team?”
Panelists include Michael Sutton, president, Infrastructure Engineering, Inc., Sandra Marks, senior vice-president, Clayco, Joan Archie, executive director of construction compliance, University of Chicago Medical Center, and Paul Cerpa, executive manager of diversity and strategic development, Illinois Tollway.
Registration for the luncheon event at Petterino’s, 150 North Dearborn St., is $50 for SMPS members and $75 for non-members (increasing by $25 after noon on April 9.)
