PREMIER breaks ground on LINX Global Manufacturing headquarters in Niles

Construction has begun on a new headquarters and advanced manufacturing facility for LINX Global Manufacturing LLC in Niles, a project designed to expand the company’s research, development and production capabilities.PREMIER Design + Build Group announced it has broken ground on the 82,125-square-foot facility, which will include an additional 18,000-square-foot production mezzanine. The building is being designed as an Industry 4.0 “lights-out” smart factory, incorporating advanced automation technologies intended to improve manufacturing efficiency.

The project will serve as LINX’s new corporate headquarters and expand the company’s operations in the medical device, advanced packaging and electromechanical assembly markets.

The facility will include a wet laboratory, quality control laboratory, 3D printing room and other specialized manufacturing and research spaces. Planned production infrastructure includes overhead material handling systems, a 10-silo raw material tank farm and a modular utility distribution system.

Office space will feature conference rooms, private offices, open work areas and breakout rooms, along with an employee café. The development also includes a rooftop green space with a walking path, outdoor kitchen and fire pit. The site will provide 85 parking spaces, including some that will be ready for electric vehicle charging equipment.

The groundbreaking ceremony brought together company officials, project partners and community leaders. The event included a shrimp boil, golf chipping contest and other activities.

“We’re excited to partner with Linx as this project moves from concept to construction,” Joe Ahrens, senior vice president and market leader at PREMIER Design + Build Group, said in a statement. “This facility reflects Linx’s commitment to innovation, quality and growth, and we’re proud to help bring that vision to life.”

Project partners include Heitman Architects, Spaceco Inc., MK Industries Inc., Swift Structural Design and Connelly Electric Co.

Construction is expected to be substantially complete during the first quarter of 2027.
