Morgan/Harbour Construction has begun work on Rockford Logistics Park 20, a new 334,800-square-foot industrial facility that marks another major investment in the Rockford region’s expanding logistics and manufacturing sector.
City, county and state officials joined developer Hillwood Investment Properties, project partners and community leaders to celebrate the groundbreaking of the facility on South Main Street in south Rockford. Strategically located near the Chicago Rockford International Airport and the US-20/IL-2 interchange, the development is designed to support continued growth in the region’s industrial and distribution market.
Morgan/Harbour Construction is serving as the general contractor for the project, while Harris Architects Inc. provided architectural design services.
The project was made possible in part through an Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) Site Readiness Grant, which helped prepare the property for future industrial development. Local leaders say the investment builds on years of planning aimed at attracting new businesses and strengthening the region’s logistics infrastructure.
Winnebago County officials highlighted the project’s significance, calling it “a testament to what strong regional collaboration can deliver” and a positive indicator of continued economic growth.
Once completed, Rockford Logistics Park 20 is expected to create construction employment during development, generate permanent jobs after occupancy, and provide long-term tax revenue while further establishing the Rockford area as a key Midwest logistics hub.
