The city of Peoria is accepting applications for the Nonprofit Capital Program until Mar. 17, supporting construction projects for organizations serving low-income community members.

Application requests must be between $50,000 and $75,000.

Funded by two federal sources: the American Rescue Plan Act and the city of Peoria’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) allocation, the program is for capital expenses including:

  • Structural improvements, such as a roof replacement
  • Installing a major mechanical system
  • Purchasing vans to transport clients
  • Other major structural needs

Program funds cannot be used for ongoing operating costs or maintenance costs, purchasing land, buildings or construction equipment.

Groups may apply online at the Nonprofit Capital Program page. Applications will be reviewed by the CDBG Public Services Advisory Commission and applicants will be notified of the funding decision following City Council approval.
