DataBid.com reports that Henry Bros. Co. is seeking subcontractors to quote on construction work for the new Chicago Jewish Day School (CJDS) at a campus site with addresses including 3730 N. California Ave. and 3737 N. Mozart St. The contractor is the only one listed on the DataBid site, but other GCs may be bidding the work as well.

The two buildings on the 2.6 acre site, previously occupied by the Uhlich Children’s Home, total 62,000 sq. ft. The property also includes a 1,500 sq. ft. building and two single-family homes.

The school says on its fundraising website that it is seeking to raise $28 million to complete the project.

MB Real Estate, a major Chicago real estate firm, has been working with CJDS for a number of years now, acting as CJDS’s owner’s representative,” the CJDS site says. “This means that MB has provided all manner of property and construction advice during the review of many different properties, and it has been leading the due diligence process on this property.

“Our team at MB is led by David Graff, who has over 30 years of experience in real-estate projects, including school projects and projects in the Jewish community. His guidance has been invaluable. MB Real Estate will also coordinate the architect and other professionals needed as the project continues.”
