Naperville City Council has unanimously approved the plan to build a new five-story dormitory building for North Central College students on its 65-acre campus by clearing the structure’s height and bulk variance.
The 101,101-sq. ft. building will have apartment-style suites for 229 students and will also include a central computer lab, shared lounge areas and laundry facilities. The new housing will replace two buildings, one of which college-owned and is being demolished, reports Napervillesun.suntimes.com.
Construction preparation work including utility relocation has been started and the groundbreaking will take place soon. Officials hope to complete the construction by August 2015.
