Chicago has issued a $130 million building permit for a 440-unit condo/apartment tower at 234 W. Polk St.
The Reed at Southbank “is a high-rise planned for the historic Printer’s Row in the South Loop neighborhood,” signaturechicagorealestate.com reports. Lend Lease (US) Construction is the general contractor, and the site says the architect is Perkins + Will.
There will be 216 condos on the upper floors of the 41-story structure, and 244 apartments below them. The LEED-certified building will reportedly focus on sustainability and wellness.
Key subtrades include: Electrical – Titan Electric LLC; masonry – J & E Duff, Inc. and McHugh Concrete Construction; and plumber/plumbing, refrigeration and ventilation – Advance Mechanical Systems.
