Construction Safety Week reminds contractors and workers of the importance of safe work practices

Ryan Companies Safety Stand Down: Workers from Ryan Companies receive fall protection training from Nick Hoffman of Guardian at an industrial job site in Huntley, Ill. In 2021, Ryan employees and subcontractors in the firm's Great Lakes region logged nearly 2.5 million safe hours.

As part of Construction Safety Week, May 2-6, several Chicago-area construction companies participated in the the nationwide Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)’s Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction. During a Safety Stand-Down, construction work on a job site halts to gather employees for a discussion on fall hazards, reinforcing the importance of fall prevention.
