The Chicago Department of Procurement Services (DPS) will host its annual Procurement Symposium (formerly known as the Vendor Fair) on Thursday, July 13, at Malcolm X College (1900 W. Jackson Blvd.) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The city says the 10th annual conference “is for entrepreneurs and business owners to meet and network with local, county, state, and federal partners who can provide resources and assistance on how to start a business, how to become certified, explain the bidding process, and how city programs and incentives that can grow your business.”
The event provides opportunities to learn about funding, grants, certifications, and other business resources. As well, you can: “Pitch your business to government agencies and prime contractors at the Business to Business Connect.”
“Network and mingle with like-minded entrepreneurs,” the city’s registration website says. “Customize your experience to fit your business needs.”
“This conference is the hub for collaborative government contracting opportunities.”
Subject-matter experts from these agencies and organizations will provide government contracting information:
- The City of Chicago (and sister agencies)
- Cook County
- State of Illinois
- Federal agencies
- Financial institutions
- Assist agencies
Relevant to the industry, the program invites participants to learn about construction and architecture/engineering contracting opportunities, among other fields.
