A full $45 million building permit has been issued as a 18-story “co-living” project takes shape at 633 S. La Salle St. in Printer’s Row.

Clark Construction Group is the general contractor for the project originally revealed in 2019 by The Collective, a London, UK based co-living company.

The co-living model provides “smaller, fully furnished private bedrooms with shared common space,” Urbanize Chicago reported in April. “Residents would have utilities, furniture, rent, and linen service included in their monthly payments.”

When completed the building will also include a fitness center, co-working lounge, rooftop terrace, bar and restaurant (and the structure will have an emergency generator and commercial kitchen).

Key subtrades include:  Electrical:  Huen Electric Inc.; masonry – Duco Construction and Jimmy’z Masonry Corp.; plumber/plumbing – Norman Mechanical; and refrigeration and ventilation – Premier Mechanical Inc.
