Chicago developer Cedar Street Cos. is preparing to start the construction on a 16-story glassy residential tower next to River North’s historic 1901 Bush Temple of Music.
According to Chicago Curbed, the developer has yet to get an official building permit. However, the company’s crew has already started preparations, erecting barriers to form a protected pathway next to the site.
Designed by Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture, the 129-unit tower would rise just south of the six-story Lakeshore LDS Meetinghouse. The building will also include ground floor retail and just 13 parking spaces.
Construction on the tower is expected to take up to 15 months.
