Fox 32 has broadcast a piece showing workers on a high-rise Chicago construction project working in close quarters without protective gear.
The broadcaster initiated the report after two viewers provided videos and images showing the working conditions, and quoted one worker saying that he is concerned for his safety — and others are as well, with two workers walking off the job that day.
Here’s the report:
Construction has been designated as an “essential service” in Illinois, though contractors and workers are supposed to follow Center for Disease Control (CDC) standards for jobsite sanitation and social distancing.
