Chicago has issued a $42.9 million building permit for a project at 221 W. Harrison St. at Wells St. in the South Loop.
The permit says the work is for a “14 story residential high rise building” with 173 dwelling units. Curbed Chicago says the overall project includes another 14-story tower, co-developed by Chicago-based D2 and Atlanta-based Wood Partners.
The general contractor is Walsh Construction Company, and the owner is Alta Grand Central LLC., with David A. Haymes of Pappageorge Haymes Partners serving as architect.
Key subtrades include: Electrical – Connelly Electric Co.; masonry – Walsh Construction and Jimmy’z Masonry Corp.; plumbing – James P. O’Sullivan; and refrigeration and ventilation – GT Mechanical Product & Design.
