$10 million permit issued for 50 unit project in Old Town

Chicago has issued a $10 million building permit for a new 50-unit apartment building at 1435 N. Wells.

Last August, Curbed Chicago reported that George Sorich, a principal with NORR Architects, said an adaptive use of the previous Old Town structures on the site was unworkable because of a difference between floor heights at 1435-1443 N. Wells. The website published a rendering of the proposed building then (see above).

The owner, 1435-1443 N. Wells LLC is associated with the developer and general contractor, LG Development Group.

Key subtrades include: ElectricalEmmi Electric Inc.; masonryNoranne Concrete, Inc. and Old Island Construction, Inc.; plumbing – Lopez Plumbing Systems, Inc.; and refrigeration and ventilation – Dane’s Heating and A/C.
