Murphy Development plans a seven-story office building near Google’s Midwest headquarters the Fulton Market District.

Murphy is buying the former Sam’s Meat warehouse at 328 North Carpenter St. from Venture Capital, and will take over a planned 100,000-sq.-ft. project on the site, according to a report by Crain’s.

The building will also include about 10,000 sq. ft. of retail space on the ground floor and a 9,000-sq.-ft rooftop deck.

As Murphy Development CEO John Murphy told the publication, the project – land acquisition and construction costs – would cost $50 million.

The developer is slated to close the acquisition deal in January and plans to begin demolition and work immediately after that, according to the published report.
