Gladstone Park Plaza, a 37,000 sq.-ft. strip mall at Foster and Northwest Highway in Chicago vacant for last 10 years, will soon to be renovated.
As a first tenant, Immediate MD, an immediate medical care facility, will occupy 4,000-sq.-ft. of area on the plaza, said Scott Goldman, a managing principal of Revision Real Estate Investment Group. Also traditional retailers have shown keen interest in housing two other storefronts at 5226-28 N. Northwest Highway, he added. The site will not be available for restaurants or fast-food chains.
The option of refreshing the strip mall was found to be difficult as the getting in and out of the triangular parcel can be difficult when traffic entering or exiting the Kennedy Expressway backs up.
“It is great to have something going in there,” Brugh stated, adding that nearly a dozen people suggested using money from Arena’s discretionary budget during the last participatory budgeting process to spruce up the shopping center.
Renovation work on new facades, landscaping, fences and additional parking for Gladstone Plaza is set to start in five weeks, reports Dnainfo.com.
