The Chicago department of planning and development is kicking-off the new initiative – “Stitching it Together “- a multi-phase planning initiative for Brighton Park and Gage Park.

A community open house will be held tonight (March 5) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brighton Park Community Campus, Gymnasium – 4830 S. Western Ave.

The community is invited to learn more about the initiative and provide feedback on topics related to your community and what you would like to see in the future. This study will explore ways to improve public spaces and make it safer and more comfortable to move around the area and access the Park District facility through public realm improvements.

The study will also identify ways to support local businesses and entrepreneurs and create designs that would reduce the impact of industrial operations,

Developing the Stitching It Together strategy will include several opportunities for community members to engage and share their ideas. It is also just the first step of a multi-phased effort to look at land use and the adjacent industrial corridors more comprehensively.
