Nicholas & Associates celebrated the start of construction at Hickory Point School last week,  a 15,798-sq. ft. addition.
Over the next two years, this project will add a multi-purpose room, sensory areas, new offices, and classrooms, while also enhancing the outdoor areas with a new playground and stormwater retention system.

The project was designed by ARCON Associates, Inc.

The addition will feature multi-use space, sensory areas, classrooms, and offices. These improvements will support the continued growth of the school’s early childhood program and provide a larger gymnasium to better serve students and staff.

Also, plans include a new K–2 playground and a dedicated preschool playground — both intentionally designed to be inclusive and accessible for all learners.

“Today represents a significant step forward for our schools,” said Northbrook School District 27 Superintendent Dr. John Deiter. “We are confident these investments will deliver meaningful, lasting value for our students and a strong return for our community.”
