Molex has broken ground on a major expansion and renovation of its Lisle campus, the company’s global headquarters.
The global electronics and connectivity company held a groundbreaking ceremony Aug. 6 to mark the start of construction.
The project is expected to be completed in December 2027 and will include a new conference center, an expanded cafeteria, renovations to existing campus buildings and the integration of a newly acquired property adjacent to the headquarters.
Molex’s existing Lisle campus covers about 350,000 square feet and the expansion is expected to add 15,000 square feet. An adjacent property will add another 80,000 square feet of office and laboratory space. Once integrated into the campus, the property will have capacity for approximately 300 to 400 additional employees.
“These major improvements to our headquarters campus will enhance the employee experience and are reflective of the collaboration, growth and innovation taking place at our company every day,” Molex CEO Joe Nelligan said. “Thank you to our team for your patience and support through the renovation and construction process.”
The Lisle campus includes Molex’s laboratories on a 60-acre wooded campus that also includes a fitness and wellness center, basketball and tennis/pickleball courts, and 1.7 miles of walking trails.
With the addition of the new conference center, expanded cafeteria, renovated buildings and adjacent office and laboratory space, the project will significantly increase the campus’s capacity while modernizing the workplace for current and future employees.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.
