Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago plans to start building a 31,860-sq. ft. outpatient facility in Skokie in September.
The project at 3722 W. Touhy Ave. has a total estimated cost of $27.5 million, of which $12,425,400 is attributed to the “fair market value of space leased by Lurie Children’s,” the hospital says in its application with the Illinois Health Facilities & Services Review Board (IHFSRB). The work is scheduled to be completed by July, 2021.
The Skokie facility would include medical offices for pediatric primary and specialty care physicians, 23 exam rooms and diagnostic testing, including X-ray and ultrasound capabilities, Lurie says in its application About 3,500 of the site’s total space will be used for clinical space.
The existing one-story building was most recently a CrossFit gym, Lurie said in its application. Construction would begin in September, with completion by July 2021.
