Engineers Week Feb 17 – 23 — Diversity of activities scheduled in Chicagoland

Several events and activities are planned for Engineers Week 2019 in Chicago. The event, described as as ‘Time to Celebrate Engineering in Chicago”, includes initiatives to encourage women and minorities to consider engineering careers.

February 21: LEANING OUT movie

Screening of the new documentary movie: LEANING OUT- biographical movie of engineer Les Robertson- structural designer of original World Trade Center. Robertson plans to be in attendance. For tickets and registration see this link:

February 21- Argonne Girls Day

February 22- EWEEK Banquet
See Congressman Lipinski generally attends, provides some commentary. Dozens of STEM students to be honored.

February 23 IIT (Rice Campus), Wheaton
Huge STEM EXPO (Last year there were 2000 attendees)

February 23, 24: CAC- ‘Engineering Fest’, 111 E. Wacker , Chicago

February 23: Northwestern – Girls Day

February 23: NSBE eweek program
This program targets African-American youth

February 23: Black Creativity Career Showcase at the Museum of Science & Industry
