Chicago Center for Arts and Technology receives $61 million building permit for arts and vocational center

Chicago has issued a $61 million building permit for the Chicago Center for Arts and Technology to renovate a four-storey structure at 1701 W. 13th St. to become an adult vocational training and youth arts center.

The project includes removing an existing roof penthouse and replacing it with three penthouses to provide access to a new roof deck, the permit says.

The general contractor is Bulley & Andrews, LLC. Key subcontractors include: Electrical, Proarc Electrical Construction Co.; plumbing, Terry Plumbing, A Matrix Holdings LLC; refrigeration: Accomplished Mechanical; ventilation, Air Design Systems.

The architect is Jeffrey Bone, a partner of Landon Bone Baker Architects.
