Cheryl Flood has been appointed as human resources manager at PREMIER Design + Build Group, LLC’s corporate headquarters in Itasca.
“She has more than 20 years of experience as a generalist, supervisor and manager and brings a people-first, proactive and positive mindset to PREMIER—a perfect combination for our growing, innovative company,” the company said in a news release.
“I am excited to have joined an organization so dedicated to its clients,” says Flood. “I’m here to help the existing team succeed and to be part of the planning and acquisition of new talent to meet the growing design and build demand. It is my mission to preserve the PREMIER level of excellence and to cultivate an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality and productivity.”
Flood has spent her career as a lead administrator of company plans and policies, been in charge of recruitment and training and saved companies time and money by implementing industry-leading programs. She started in personnel at a Chicago-area company and earned the title of manager. She transitioned to a top company that serves the logistics industry and earned increased responsibilities and accolades over the years.
Providing leadership and direction beyond the traditional human resources role, Flood is proactive in identifying and resolving issues through innovative solutions. Specifically, she has obtained premium savings for both benefit and business insurance programs by addressing health care reform and implementing effective safety training programs and practices to reduce workman’s compensation costs.
Flood believes that she will add the most value to PREMIER and its clients by thinking beyond the traditional—and taking the initiative to implement solutions that enhance organizational performance, workforce quality and company culture.
“Cheryl brings the same passion for people and the health of our business as our executives, project managers and superintendents do to client projects,” says PREMIER executive vice-president Brian Paul. “We are fortunate to have her with us – she is a great fit at PREMIER.”
Flood has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology & Sociology from Illinois State University as well as PHR (Professional in Human Resources) and SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) certifications. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Management Association of Illinois.
Flood is an avid Chicago sports team fan and lives in the Northwest Suburbs with her husband and Golden Doodle puppy. She is pursuing a volunteer program to serve as an advocate for children and families who are victims of domestic abuse and/or neglect.
