The City of Champaign will launch OpenGov, a new permitting software, on Jan. 2, 2025.
This follows a comprehensive yearlong audit of the building permit and development approval process conducted with Matrix Consultants. The new system will enable online permit submissions and payments, significantly improving efficiency and saving applicants thousands of dollars in paper costs.
To transition to this digital process, the city will host a series of informational Zoom meetings, starting tonight. Here’s the schedule:
