Path Construction breaks ground on new Libertyville police station designed by FGM Architects

Path Construction has officially broken ground on the new Libertyville Police Station in Libertyville, Illinois.Designed by FGM Architects, the 47,000-square-foot facility will replace the Village’s existing police station, which has served the community since 1970. The new station is designed to support current operations, future growth, and the evolving needs of public safety with dedicated training and community space, enhanced evidence processing and storage areas, wellness facilities, and secure indoor squad car parking.

“Projects like these create long-term value for the communities they serve, providing first responders with facilities built to support their work for decades to come,” Path officials said in a social media statement.

The new station is designed to meet both current operational needs and accommodate future growth. Planned features include:

  • Dedicated training and community space to support public engagement and officer development
  • Enhanced evidence processing and storage areas to improve security and efficiency
  • Wellness facilities for staff, reflecting a growing emphasis on first responder mental and physical health
  • Secure indoor parking for squad cars, improving operational readiness and safety

Village officials and project stakeholders have emphasized that the facility is intended as a long-term investment in public safety infrastructure, ensuring first responders have a modern, functional environment for decades.
