The Chicago Plan Commission endorsed a plan for a 248-unit senior living facility in the heart of the Six Corners Shopping District, Block Club Chicago reports.

The 10-story building at Irving Park Rd., Cicero and Milwaukee avenues will fill the corner left vacant since 2016. The project from Ryan Companies also includes 50,000 sq. ft. of commercial space on the ground floor, including an Aldi grocery store.

The commission voted unanimously to send the $125-million project to the City Council’s zoning committee. The complex will create 500 construction jobs and 140 permanent jobs, according to city officials.

The building will offer 216 parking spaces, according to the proposal.
