An apartment tower planned for a site near the old Cabrini-Green is ready to grow legs, Curbed Chicago reports.

Initially unveiled early last year, the plan from developer Fifield Companies will deliver 310 apartment units to 347 W. Chestnut St., according to a newly issued construction permit. The 28-story tower, designed by Pappageorge Haymes Partners, will also include about 6,000 sq. ft. of ground floor retail.

Similar to many of the other apartment towers springing up throughout the greater downtown area, this project will include a plethora of amenities like an outdoor pool and spa, outdoor fire pit, outdoor grill kitchens, a gym and screening room.

The project  will break ground on June 9. Similar to other downtown projects, the new tower will feature studios, one-, two- and three bedroom apartments and a number of luxury amenities.

Originally named as Avant, the development recently took a new name: NEXT in NoCA (north of Chicago Avenue).
