Chicago has issued a $14.3 million building permit for an unmanned METRA station at 1778 W. Peterson Ave.
“The project consists of a new commuter rail station and related improvements and related parking/drop-off areas,” the permit issued on Feb. 8 says. “This is an unmanned station. The station has exterior stairs and ramps to the boarding platforms, a limited warming shelter, and 2 wind breaks.”
John Burns Construction Company is listed as the general contractor. Key subtrades include: Electrical – Cable Communications, Inc.; masonry – A. Horn, Inc.; plumber/plumbing – Mechanical Inc. DBA Helm Group; and refrigeration and ventilation – Autumn Construction Services.
