Hotel combination and other developments indicate thriving West Loop opportunities

Two new hotels at 118 North Jefferson, Hampton Inn/Homewood Suites, will be soon finished and will be placed within a single 23-story tower. (Both Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites are aligned under the overall Hilton brand.)

This project is one of several under-way in the West Loop area, reports.

The hotels, perched above 7,500 sq. ft of new ground-level retail, will share an indoor pool, 4,900 sq. ft of meeting rooms, two business centers and an outdoor landscaped terrace.

The project being developed by Chicago-based Jupiter Realty Company and Boston-based Intercontinental Real Estate Corporation has reached the second and third floors with the reinforced concrete frame of the 105-space parking garage now taking shape.

Meanwhile, a 227-unit, 29 story apartment tower at Halstead and Lake Streets is under construction, with current work to complete the podium floors for the amenity deck and a 162-space parking garage.

Booth Hansen architects has designed the project, developed by Focus Construction, Shapack Partners and Atlantic Realty Partners.

In the January of this year another apartment building was finished in the area and sold four months later for $75 million to New York based Clarion Partners.
