Chicago has issued a permit to build the foundation and superstructure through the fourth floor for what will become a 31 story residential building at 717 Clark St.
CMK Companies is developing the 349-unit project (with 192 parking spaces), designed by Hartshorne + Plunkard Architects (HPA). (The permit lists the owner as 705 S. Clark Development Corp.) Lend Lease (US) Construction is the general contractor.
The permit value of $2,060,000 represents only a fraction of the project’s overall value for the South loop project. CMK purchased the former Palmer Printing building and parking lot early in 2018 for $14 million, Crain’s Chicago Business has reported.
Key consultants include: structural engineer – C.E. Anderson & Associates, PC; MEP engineer – Cosentini Associates and other consultants: Eriksson Engineering Associates, Ltd. (civil) and Wolff Landscape Architecture (landscaping).
Subtrades listed on the permit include: Electrical – Bonus Electric; masonry – Adjustable Forms Inc.; and plumbing, refrigeration and ventilation – AMS Mechanical Systems, Inc.
