Brad C. Grove, a respected masonry contractor, union member, and long-time industry leader, has died at the age of 60.
Grove was the owner and president of Grove Masonry Maintenance, Inc., a company he built with pride and dedication. A 20-plus year member of Bricklayers Union Local 21, Grove was known throughout the Chicago-area construction community for his craftsmanship and leadership.
He served as past president of the Tuckpointers Contractors Association (TPCA) and was an active member of the Mason Contractors Association. He also contributed to advocacy work as a trusted advisor with the Association of Subcontractors and Affiliates’ Government Relations Committee.
Beyond his professional work, Grove was deeply engaged in his community. He served as a school board member for School District 127.5, a trustee of the Village of Chicago Ridge from 2005 to 2013, and volunteered for more than 20 years as a basketball coach with Our Lady of the Ridge. He also held leadership roles with the OLOR Men’s Club and served as a Minister of Care.
Industry colleagues remember Grove as “a man of service like no other,” who combined professional dedication with a passion for mentoring, teamwork, and giving back.
Grove is survived by his wife, Margie; his children Jennifer (Deanna), Jackie (Rory), Joe (Jo Anna), and Matthew (Kristy); and his many grandchildren. He was also cherished by his mother, Sandra, and a large extended family.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Curley Funeral Home, 6116 W. 111th St., Chicago Ridge, IL. The funeral mass will take place Thursday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Ridge Church, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
