Seefried Industrial Properties and Edged Energy, a division of Endeavour are teaming up with city officials and ComEd to kick off the construction of a three-building, 65-acre data center campus in Aurora.

Yahoo Finance says the project will be built in phases and is Edged Energy’s first data center development in Illinois. The first building of the new campus scheduled for completion in June 2024.

The general contractor on the project is FCL Builders, Ware Malcomb is the architect of record and Kimley-Horn is the civil engineer.

Sustainable features throughout the complex will include advanced waterless cooling technology and ultra-efficient energy systems.

The development will also feature:

  • Electric vehicle charging
  • Alternative fuels for its backup generators
  • On-site solar panels

ComEd will provide infrastructure to power the new data center campus from its nearby regional substation. Additionally, Seefried and Edged Energy will be adding a new substation onsite to support future phases of the development.
