Crews recently poured the concrete slab for the 50th level of Vista Tower’s planned 101 levels only 20 months after the Lakeshore East building broke ground.

When complete, the building will reach 1,198 feet and is currently the tallest tower now in the works for Chicago’s skyline.

The hotel and condominium project is the brainchild of Chicago architect Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang in collaboration with bKL Architecture and Hirsch Bedner Associates. Roughly 40 percent of the project’s 406 luxury residences are sold, according to Chicago Curbed.

The opening is planned for 2020.
