OSF HealthCare and US HealthVest have broken ground on Meadowview Behavioral Hospital, a new structure aimed at expanding access to behavioral health services in Central Illinois. The project, designed by Legat Architects and led by Peoria-based general contractor P.J. Hoerr, Inc., marks a major milestone in a joint venture between the two health care organizations.
The ceremony took place at 9014 N. Wood Sage Road and highlighted the importance of the new hospital, which will provide inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care for individuals facing depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use disorders, and other behavioral health conditions.
“This is a vital addition to our region that reflects our shared commitment to meeting people where they are with compassionate, high-quality care,” said Michelle Conger, president of OSF HealthCare. “Mental and behavioral health are critical components of a person’s well-being, and this new hospital will help us address one of the most urgent health needs in our community.”
The hospital is the result of a collaboration between OSF HealthCare and US HealthVest, a national leader in behavioral health care. Together, the organizations aim to bring innovative, evidence-based solutions to meet the growing need for mental health services in the Midwest.

Construction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026. The hospital will bring new clinical jobs to the area and provide a much-needed resource for individuals and families seeking behavioral health support.
