The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA)’s Red and Purple Modernization (RPM) Program is hosting a virtual public meeting on Sept. 22 (Wednesday) at 6:00 p.m. to introduce residents to the gantry system – a massive piece of equipment that will build the new bridge structure for Red and Purple lines.
CTA says the RPM’s custom-made gantry system will be the first-ever used in the city of Chicago It’s custom-made and built one piece at a time for the Lawrence to Bryn Mawr track reconstruction.
CTA asserts that the gantry will reduce noise, build-time, dust and street closures.
