The Chicago Building Congress (CBC) will host its inaugural Riverfront Exchange on October 23, bringing together leaders from across the construction industry to strengthen connections between builders and diverse communities.

The networking event, themed “Where Construction and Diverse Communities Build Connections,” will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Taste 222, 222 N. Canal St.

This new annual CBC event is designed as a casual but high-value mixer for professionals seeking to build partnerships, discover new collaborators, and lay the groundwork for future projects.

The evening will feature keynote speaker Mary Person, Senior Vice President of Public-Private Initiatives at Clayco, whose work focuses on leveraging development projects to promote culture, inclusion, and economic opportunity. Person’s leadership has helped shape several high-impact public-private partnerships nationwide.

“The Riverfront Exchange is about sparking authentic connections that make our industry stronger and more inclusive,” CBC organizers said in a statement. “We’re proud to highlight the individuals and organizations driving meaningful change in Chicagoland’s built environment.”

The event will showcase success stories from associations, organizations, and companies that champion diversity in construction, with an emphasis on collaboration and shared impact. Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and live jazz while networking with decision-makers, innovators, and industry leaders.

Tickets are $125 for CBC members and $150 for non-members.
Business casual attire is recommended.
