Builtech Services LLC, a national general contracting and construction management firm, says it has has been awarded a contract to perform the construction on the historic Howard Building in the West Loop for Sterling Bay.

Located at 1000 W. Randolph St. in Chicago’s Fulton Market District, the adaptive re-use project entails the rehabilitation and renovation of the two-story, 15,500-sq. ft. building for new retail tenants, which include Starbucks and Anthropologie, the contractor says.

The shops will sit across the street from what will be the new McDonald’s headquarters building, with Google’s Midwest headquarters also in the vicinity.

“Builtech is excited to continue its relationship with Sterling Bay and Starbucks and is happy to be part of the ongoing positive transformation of Randolph street,” said Buildtech president Chris Noon.

The renovation project is expected to be completed early January 2017.
