bKL Architecture in Chicago is putting its 3D printers to work producing face shields for healthcare workers during the COVID-19 crisis.

“Our current stock of 3D printers can produce 50 face shields per day,” the practice reported on social media. “We are aiming to double our production to 100 shields per day with four more 3D printers. We are also working on gathering more materials.”

“If you are able, please consider donating any amount to assist us with this effort. All contributions will be used for additional printers and materials.”

The architects have thanked the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for sharing the open source design file.
