McShane Construction Company has broken ground on 750 Curtiss, a six-story, 138-unit apartment development in downtown Downers Grove.

The project is being developed by Conor Commercial Real Estate and LCI Development Partners, with Bailard serving as the equity partner. SGW Architecture & Design is the architect of record, and McShane Construction is the general contractor.

Located on a 1.34-acre infill site at 750 Curtiss Street, the development will offer convenient access to the Main Street Metra Station and the surrounding downtown business district.

The building will feature four levels of wood-frame construction above a two-story precast concrete parking garage with 182 spaces. The 138 apartments will include a mix of studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, along with five direct-entry two-bedroom townhomes.

Residents will enjoy a comprehensive amenity package including a clubroom, fitness center, co-working hubs, outdoor terrace with pool, dog wash and run, and bike storage. Interior finishes will feature quartz countertops, stainless-steel appliances, in-unit laundry, and wood-look flooring, with select units offering private balconies.

The $31.8 million project is expected to be completed in spring 2027, adding new housing options and vitality to the heart of Downers Grove.
