Chicago has issued building permits for two structures in the South Loop at 51 E. 14th St. and 1419 S. Wabash Ave., with a total value of more than $138 million.
The first project on 14th Street will include 68 efficiency units, 131 dwelling units, 88 parking spaces, and ground floor retail. It has a permit value of $38,106,000.
The second building on Wabash Ave. has 62 units and a permit value of $9,949,900.
Both permits were issued to 1415 S. Wabash Development Corporation, which operates out of offices associated with developer CMK Companies. The former Columbia College parcel was sold to the developer for a reported $6.5 million in October of 2017, Curbed Chicago reports. The architect is Pappageorge Haymes Partners and Clark Construction Group Chicago is the general contractor.
Subcontractors include: Electrical – Vader National Electric LLC.; masonry – Adjustable Forms Inc. and RV Builders, Corp.; plumbing – Warren E. Thomas; and refrigeration and mechanical – Westside Mechanical.
